Datta,
a Kolkata-based fashion designer, is best known for revolutionizing
traditional Indian wear for men. But somewhere along the way, she
felt the need to dress them up in more than just fabric. Out of
this desire was born a gold jewellery collection. Since then, and
along with Uni-Design, she has now designed a diamond collection
of men’s jewellery.
The collection
includes the more usual rings and bracelets. It also has dressy
neck-pieces, sherwani collars, button caps and kurta buttons to
go with ethnic wear. To perk up westernized apparel, Datta has introduced
a range of tie-pins, cufflinks and lapel pins which make a distinct
statement, quite different from
the understated variety the western world might be familiar with.
And for the man who would like to assert his individuality further
is a range of pendants that vie for attention.
