A Brief History

In the mid 1970’s Mr. B. N. Datta an expert Technocrat in setting up Sugar Mills was deputed as a the Chief Engineer by the Govt. of India for the construction of Ahmedpur Sugar Mill, Birbhum. He settled at Admedpur. His son Late Alokmoy Dutta (later to become the renowned Muralist) was an avid nature lover.  He was mesmerized by the “land of the red soil” and took the challenge to turn the barren and undulated landscape, close to the river Bakreshwar to turn into a natural forestation.  The area is located in close vicinity to the holy Hindu Temple of Tarapeeth. His mother Late Usha Datta was the real inspiration of the place, she was courageous lady to be a resident of that barren land and long with her son - Alo took the challenge to bring back and create a Green Heaven - natural

forestation. They named the area Basundhara with great love. He laboriously struggled for years by planting and taking care of the saplings all single handedly. His Green Project created an impacted on the entire region. Late Alo Dutta’s son Amalin (Raja) - an educated expert is carrying on the legacy. Though born and brought up in the City of Kolkata, he loves to spend the most of his time to take care and nurture this this natural forestation of Basundhara. Amalin (Raja) would love to bring the best of farm fresh produce to the urban households.  The products range from Food Grains, Herbs, Mineral rich Beauty Products, Olils, Milk Products etc. all produced in the purest natural way and hygienic manner.
